SEO vs. AI: What’s Driving Digital Marketing in 2025?

SEO vs. AI

In a world where technology is constantly evolving, especially with AI, SEO has the potential to affect your daily searches.

What does SEO stand for?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and is a set of strategies and techniques aimed at improving a website’s visibility and ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs) like Google.

What’s the goal?

The goal of SEO is to enhance the chances of a website being found by users when they search for relevant keywords or phrases.

What is AI, and what are its abilities?

AI is an abbreviation for Artificial Intelligence, which gives computers the ability to complete tasks that would normally require human intelligence. AI is powered by data and algorithms, using computer power to mimic human functions. AI chatbots like ChatGPT are used for content creation, summarizing, writing, learning, search engine optimization, and can even help you compose music and lyrics.

Who is using AI and how can we use it effectively instead of depending on it?

According to Social Media Examiner founder Michael Stelzner, a third of marketers are using AI tools weekly. Approximately 37% of marketers use AI daily, making it a routine part of their workflow.

Many fear that AI is causing us to think less creatively. Stelzner advised,  “It’s less about replacing human creativity, and more about AI taking on the role of a creative assistant.”

While AI could boost productivity and save time, Stelzner points out that marketers, despite using AI for efficiency, still doubt its reliability and accuracy. Rather than replacing their expertise, its functionality serves as a tool to empower their skills.

Will AI overtake SEO?

The short answer is no, but it could change the way SEO is done. While some  are fearful of AI’s growing technology, many people in the marketing world accept its role in helping improve SEO.  to incorporate real standards and human responses into SEO, making it easier to find that cheese shop or bakery in your  hometown. At the end of the day, SEO and AI aren’t in competition, instead they’re working hand- to make searches more fruitful. And more importantly, it helps more folks find your small business!
